Being a woman

 A fight ensues
With birth of a girl
Between her existence
And the world

If she is raised
To be fierce and brave
The society takes
Up the task to tame

While she should be
Celebrating her individuality
She is given this
Weird concept of equality

There are norms
Unsaid ofcourse, that
She is expected to know

Mature to handle eccentricities
Of kids and the old
Mainly adept in all chores

While the men of double her age
Are scared of being alone
And some are patted for 'helping'
In their 'own' homes

The glass ceiling on the other hand
keeps on rising above
There must be something fishy
Is the thought if she manages
To climb the ladder to top

The wings that every human has
Are clipped for the woman
At school or college or
With Marriage or at work
Or home or tomb
If she survives in womb
